Wales (oops, not Cornwall)

Why Wales now? Well, the pic just “arrived” (thank-you!) and takes my thoughts back there to nearly two months ago. I just realized…as long ago as it is now until you are here…And, that was one of the best barbecue experiences ever.

Leopardess in Cairns

Well, not exactly a leopardess. But we are on the spotty theme. It is a new one that just came up. The spots are red and very small and itchy. Except the two big ones just below my knees. They are even weirder. It is all a very strange experience, for sure. My mind-body has been taking me on quite a ride lately. What the f*#*! What is it showing me? So I have my mushroom juice, the non-hallucinogenic kind (although this all feels like an hallucination), and…we will see…I even imagine (or not) that the tips of my ears are itching. So it is a time for rest, meditation, reflection in Cairns. I am staying for a while again in comfort land. I stroll around the perimeter of the small park with the rainforest mountains all around, spy out my favourite homes, feel the perfect weather and observe unfamiliar birds. All a very different world from Kavieng or East Oxford.

Jack Sprat

Jack Sprat
Well, I went away for a number of weeks and then was back in KVeng and then I am here now, not in Kavieng. And it has all been rather strange. And is. So this morning, L said could he interest me in breakfast at the botanical gardens where apparently they are famous for their huge waffles. He, with an idea for fattening me up after this mystery illness. And so it was so lovely, out and about a little driving through the suburbs, the view of the rainforest-draped mountains always there. The beautiful old Queenslander homes. Me liking Cairns more and more. Me feeling a bit wobbly, but not as wobbly as for so much of the past two weeks of wobbliness. And so the waffle came and I ate and ate…and nearly finished it all. And L was pleased and as he ate fruit salad to stay on his diet, I was eating to do the opposite to my body. And now a few hours later my stomach still feels so full. But nice and so much better than a few days ago. It is kinda nice to be here in Cairns. It took a bit to get here, Sepik Simon not helping me at all (at all), but it is good, good to be here. So now, what do I think of being….there…?
